Proper Chemicals for Cleaning a Tile (VCT) Floor

Many people think that water alone is all you need to clean a floor. Water by itself is actually a very poor cleaner. Surface tension caused by water's molecular structure prevent it from properly contacting the floor surface to effectively remove soils. Chemicals break the surface tension and will also suspend the removed soils preventing the soil from being redeposited.

Many popular cleaners, household brands we all know and have used for years will damage the floor finish when used and should be avoided.  High pH cleaners, bleach, acids, and ammonia chemicals that should be avoided when cleaning vinyl tile floors.

This video discusses the reasons why a floor cleaner is needed and what chemicals to use.  Michco offers a number of floor cleaning products depending on the soil conditions.
